Between Balatonmagyaród and Zalakomár is the Buffalo Reserve in Kápolnapuszta, which is open all year round.

The reserve has Hungary's largest buffalo herd, picnic areas, an interactive exhibitions and storytelling walks. The reserve plays an important role for the preservation of the native buffalo in Hungary and its genetic resources. A petting zoo is also open every day during opening hours..
