Sümeg Castle

Sümeg is about 45 km from our hotel via the Keszthely - Cserszegtomaj route.
Sümeg Castle is one of the most beautiful, relatively intact medieval fortresses of the country, built on a barren hilltop, high above its surroundings.
In 1957, they began exploring and restoring the castle for 7 years, and in 1989 the right to use it became private and has been undergoing continuous renovation. At the foot of the Castle, at the entrance of the horse stable, is the equestrian statue of St. George the Dragon. You can walk to the Castle either by foot or by taxi. With redeemed tickets, all exhibitions of the Sümeg Castle can be viewed, such as: a piece room, a fire department, a torture chamber, an archeological exhibition, a castle chapel, a weapons museum, a craftsman and blacksmith, etc. Children's programs, castle games, medieval fights, and medieval dinners are also held at the Castle Estate throughout the year.
